Why Orange, not yellow?

So we (our group) initially choose to use the colour yellow, because that was the colour that the city council has used for their marketing.

However we wanted it to be a different colour to disassociate ourselves from the yellow colour of the Wellington city council separating and making our project/idea different and unique to the City Council. So there was some research done and we decided to use Orange.
We decided to use orange to make the project more youthful and unique. We also used this colour because of its colour psychology. So orange is "the colour of adventure and social communication". It is also seen as being optimistic and extroverted/confident. this colour shows that you are taking action with your life, make changes and keep moving forward and upward. It's the colour that helps shows being "sociable, optimistic, enthusiastic, cheerful, independent, confident, adventurous, risk-taker."
We wanted to show what kind of generation we are and how to show that within our project and think this colour really shows and represents this.
